Impressive descent from the Südliche Riffelspitze, Bavaria.
From the summit of the Riffelspitze, impressive deep views open up to the Eibsee, 1300 metres below, the peaks of Ziegspitz and Kramerspitze to the north and the Jubiläumsgrat ridge to the south. Afterwards, the Höllentalsteig trail leads from the southern Riffelwandspitze to the valley. You pass the Hammerbach stream and the seasonal Höllentalangerhütte hut.
The trail runs partly on a narrow ridge and requires surefootedness and a head for heights. Sturdy shoes are highly recommended.
