Chammünsterweg

Popular circular hike in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria. From the starting point at the raft harbour, walk along the Regen towards the car park, past the outdoor pool and straight on to the green area where you branch off. On an idyllic trail, always along the Regen, you reach Altenstadt. There, the hiking trail turns right towards Aue. After crossing the Chamb and Regen rivers, you will see the village of Chammünster. If you want to cool your feet or take a swimming break, you can take a detour to the left to Satzdorfer See lake at this point. After approx. 850 metres, you reach the centre of Chammünster. Here you should not miss a visit to St Mary's Minster, also known as the original church of the Upper Bavarian Forest, St Anne's Chapel and the charnel house (Karner). Staying on the main road, you pass the industrial estate of Chammünster. You pass the main road safely over the bridge. Once you reach the traffic lights, cross the road and you will come to the southern entrance of the Quadfeldmühle. This is a recreational area with a variety of play and recreational sports areas, but also quiet retreat areas for rest and relaxation. The hiking trail continues in a south-north direction to the northern entrance of the site. A path across the meadow takes you past an inn. Finally, you cross the so-called "Blue Bridge" back to the starting point at the raft harbour.
