Schlammeringer Trail (Ch02)

Popular circular hike in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria. From the starting point in the centre of Windischbergerdorf, turn into Lärchenfeldstraße. Stay on this road until you reach a wooded area with a wayside shrine and bench. From here you can enjoy the view of the Lamberg. Continue along the Stations of the Cross through the forest, past a water reservoir until you reach a signpost pointing you in the right direction. After approx. 1 km you reach another signpost on the forest road. This points you to the right. Passing several ponds, beehives and idyllic meadows, you reach Schlammering on the Gänseangerweg. The chapel and the death boards in the centre of the village are well worth seeing. The hiking trail now goes slightly uphill via the Bgm. You can take a break at the last estate before continuing along the path. Before the playground and the overview boards, the path then branches off to the left onto a field path lined with shrubs. This soon leads into the forest. Following the markings, you have to cross the district road, where the path continues on a dirt track again. This soon narrows again to paths until the hiking trail meets an asphalt road that runs alongside the Kurklinik car park. Via Klinikstraße, you finally return to the centre of Windischbergerdorf, the starting point of this hiking trail.
