Demanding and scenic hike on the Bodenschneid, Bavaria.
Start is at Fischhausen-Neuhaus railway station. At the beginning and up to the Bodenschneidhaus, the hiking trails are still wide and easy to walk. Later, the paths become narrower and quite challenging due to the steep, rocky summit flanks. Sure-footedness and a good level of fitness are an advantage here. The hike should not be done during or after rainy weather since it will be very slippery.
The final rocky ascent rewards you with a summit with magnificent views. Magnificent panoramic views of the Mangfallgebirge mountains, Lake Tegernsee and the Karwendel make this tour a fantastic experience.
It is posssible to stop for refreshments at the Bodenschneidhaus, which is open every day without a day off and also offers overnight accommodation (see tips).
