Best trails near Pflugberg

Wonderful hiking stage from Mechernich, North Rhine-Westphalia. The beautiful tour starts at Mechernich railway station and takes you through the idyllic village before continuing along forest, field and meadow paths. The stage ends in Scheven at the railway station, where you also have the option of travelling back to the starting point by bus and train. Highlights of the route: - Kallmuter Berg nature reserve - Baltesbenden pond - Buchholzer pond

The route lives up to its promise. Again and again, marvellous views of the various natural landscapes of the Eifel open up before you. You also get a lot of information about mining - especially if you pay a visit to the mining museum in Mechernich. But also on the route itself, for example at the "Kallmuther Berg open-cast mine" viewpoint, you get a fascinating view of the disused lead ore mining area and the landscapes behind it.
