Best hard trails in Mechernich

This route follows the traces of the Roman water supply. It passes Roman aqueducts, ancient fountains and reservoirs that once supplied Roman Cologne with the best Eifel water. A varied landscape with charming stream valleys, gentle hills and dense forests also awaits you.

Wonderful hiking stage from Mechernich, North Rhine-Westphalia. The beautiful tour starts at Mechernich railway station and takes you through the idyllic village before continuing along forest, field and meadow paths. The stage ends in Scheven at the railway station, where you also have the option of travelling back to the starting point by bus and train. The route then continues along the Roman canal path to Breitenbenden.
