Stage 3 of the long-distance hiking trail "Römerkanal-Wanderweg", North Rhine-Westphalia.
This is the third stage of the varied, approximately 115 km long Roman Canal Trail, which follows the course of a canal constructed by the Romans in the 1st century from Nettersheim through the High Fens-Eifel Nature Park to Sülz.
The starting point of the third stage is in Dottel and the section ends in Kreuzweingarten. Beautiful forests, marvellous views and interesting remains of mighty buildings such as the Heidentempel near Kreuzweingarten make this hike, which is only around 13 km long, a real pleasure.
There are places to stay overnight and stop for refreshments. The route can be reached by bus and train.
