Best long trails in Hohenwarth

Popular circular hiking trail in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria. The hike starts at the fire station in Hohenwart. From there, follow the footpath westwards, past the school and downhill. After 400 metres, cross the traffic lights and continue straight ahead towards the farm on the right-hand side. This route leads in a large loop through the hilly and wooded area south of Hohenwarth. The name of the trail comes from the small human settlements that are passed along the way. Apart from these settlements, the trail is heavily wooded with several spots for good views of the surrounding area. It is possible to visit the nearby peaks if desired.

This circular hiking trail starts in Hohenwarth and leads to the Hohenbogen Diensthütte, which is located next to the Kohlriegel. The trail first crosses the River Regen, then leads through Oberzettling and Unterzettling before entering the forest on the ascent to the Hohenbogen Diensthütte. The way back is of course along the same route.
