Best trail running trails in Aschau im Chiemgau

This route runs mainly on gravel/clay paths and hiking trails. Gradients of up to 25% are present. The ascent route largely corresponds to the route of the Kampenwandlauf. The downhill section is much more attractive and utilises the narrow hiking trails. A fun downhill experience for trail runners. The route can also be run in the other direction without any problems.

Popular circular hiking trail in Chiemgau, Bavaria. This circular hike runs for almost 10 kilometres through the picturesque landscapes of Chiemgau. The many alpine pastures in particular, where it is always worth stopping for a bite to eat, make the route a relaxing pleasure. Starting point: car park at the festival hall (620 m) First ascend towards Kampenwand in the forest until you reach a ski slope. Continue on this towards Hirschenstein, past it and to the Kampenwand cable car (1460 m). Pass the Sonnenalm and Kampenwandhütte (1500 m) to the Steinlingalm (1448 m). Continue past the eastern summit of the Kampenwand towards Hochalpenkopf to start the return journey from there.

Mountain tour no. 26 - Aschau to the Hochries summit house (1,568m) via the Hof Alm, Riesenhütte and back again. Very varied route with a particularly worthwhile stop at the DAV Haus. The route starts quite steeply at first.

The stage from the Kampenwand to the Priener Hütte has wonderful views and beautiful alpine pastures. A short stretch, the ascent to the Weitlahnerkopf, is secured with a wire rope and requires sure-footedness. The relatively short stage allows a detour to the Geigelstein, which is rewarded by the wonderful panorama of the Kaiser Mountains. From the Priener Hütte via Sachrang to the Spitzsteinhaus it is a comfortable, not too long stage. But you have the opportunity to look at the Peter Müller Museum in Sachrang. From Sachrang it goes via the Obermoosalm and the Mesneralm partly over meadows, partly through forest uphill to the Spitzsteinhaus, which is already on Austrian territory.
