Vom Mittelpunkt Deutschlands nach Erfurt

Ideally, you should travel to Mühlhausen by train. From there, the route can be cycled to the geographical center of Germany in Niederdorla. Between Oberdorla and Niederdorla is the Vogtei sacrificial bog, an important Germanic cult and sacrificial site from the 6th century B.C. The small museum and the replica of the Germanic settlement and the sacrificial sites in the open-air area are well worth a visit. The exhibited finds document that non-Christian ritual acts were performed here for more than 1000 years. After a short detour there, we first return to Mühlhausen and from there the actual tour to Erfurt begins. The well-signposted Unstrut cycle path first takes you to Bad Langensalza. After a short stop in the beautiful old town, you return to the Unstrut Cycle Path via Nägelstädt and continue along it to Gebesee/Ringleben. Here the Gera flows into the Unstrut and you leave the Unstrut cycle path. Instead, continue along the Gera cycle path to Erfurt. The tour ends in Erfurt on the Wenigemarkt at the Krämerbrücke.
