A great, entertaining excursion in Aue, which leads to the
St Andreas "Weiße Erden" ("white earth") mine. The first "white earth", i.e. kaolin, was found here at the end of the 17th century and was used to supply the Saxon porcelain manufactory in Meissen.
The St Andreas White Earth Mine is an "associated site" of the Ore Mountains/Krušnohoří World Heritage Site. The hike leads to the former "Huthaus" ("hat house"), the central administrative building of a colliery.
The start is at the "Unterer Festplatz" car park.
