Beautiful hiking trail in the Upper Lusatian Heath and Pond Landscape Biosphere Reserve, Saxony.
A varied hike that can be started from Ostro as well as from "Gersdorfer Winkel". It leads to the mammoth garden in Prietitz and the historic entrenchment, to the charming village of Elstra and along the quarry in Rauschwitz to the Hochstein.
The sections up to Hochstein and the source of the Black Elster are quite challenging, but can be avoided by taking a shortcut from the quarry to Kindisch.
The hike is marked with a yellow line.
The start is at Gersdorfer Winkel. On school days, the S41 school bus from Elstra (Markt) to the "Boderitz" or "Wohla" stop can be taken. For a start in Ostro, the bus route 191 runs from Bischofswerda to the "Ostro" stop.
There is a refreshment stop in Prietitz.
