Kammweg Erzgebirge-Vogtland Stage 15: Eichigt - Burgsteingebiet

This route follows stage 15 of the certified "Kammweg Erzgebirge-Vogtland" premium trail, connecting Eichigt with the historic Burgstein region on a scenic and memorable section. The hike leads through the untouched, biodiverse landscapes of the "Green Belt" nature reserve (the former inner-German border) near Tiefenbrunn. A scenic highlight along the path is passing the Dröda Dam and its two idyllic pre-dams, Bobenneukirchen and Ramoldsreuth. After climbing the Vordere Platte hill, which rewards hikers with sweeping panoramic views across the western Vogtland, the trail leads to its destination at Burgstein. Here, the romantic Burgstein ruins and the historic Hermann Vogel House in Krebes invite you to explore. Cozy refreshments are available at local spots along the route; wild camping is prohibited. The stage concludes at a hiking parking lot in the Burgstein area, which is connected to public transit via regional bus lines (e.g., from Plauen or Gutenfürst), while Eichigt is also accessible by bus; schedules are available through local transit networks.
