Stage 1 of the “Selketal-Stieg” long-distance hiking trail, Saxony-Anhalt.
This is the first stage of the varied and beginner-friendly Selketal-Stieg, which leads over a distance of around 70 km through the wonderful Harz mountain landscape between Stiege and Quedlinburg.
The starting point of the first stage is in Stiege and the section ends in Alexisbad. You can enjoy the Upper Selketal nature reserve, a mountain lake and numerous relics of mining in the Harz Mountains.
There are places to stay overnight and stop for refreshments. The route can be reached by bus and train.
