Exciting, varied hiking trail in the Steinbachtal/Netzbachtal forest reserve, Saarland.
The over 1000 hectare "primeval forest at the gates of the city" of Saarbrücken is located in the "European Natural Heritage Saar Coal Forest", a bird sanctuary and wilderness area. The tour starts at the Phillipsborn hunting lodge parking lot - this is also where the primeval forest information center is located. The route continues to the Gouvys and Steinbach ponds and Little Fuji. The special atmosphere of this natural forest creates a sense of adventure, curiosity and relaxation.
The hike is not recommended after rain or snow, as the path between Little Fuji and the Valley of Silence runs along an unsecured slope.
