Beautiful walk in the Bliesgau biosphere reserve, Saarland.
There is a car park and the bus stop "Bliesmengen-Bolchen Gräfinthal" at the starting point at the monastery church, so that arriving by car or bus is both possible. It is nice to stop for a bite to eat in the local restaurant after the walk or to use the footpath for a digestive walk.
The route leads across fields and along the edges of the forest and, as it often follows paved paths or roads, extra hiking boots are not absolutely necessary. However, it is a little steeper from time to time. It is possible to take a detour to the Heidenkopf tower for a beautiful view as far as the Vosges mountains.
