Beautiful, legendary loop in the Bliesgau.
Start at the "Zum Stiefel" car park. From here, the route leads to the "Großer Stiefel" ("Big boot") natural monument - a coloured sandstone rock that is weathered in such a way that it looks like an upside-down shoe. Many legends and stories surround this place! It's up to you to decide which of them are true - because not everything that is told is true - the signposted "Stiefeler Schloss" is just the remains of a watchtower.
The route leads up to the high plateau, partly on paved but also on gravelled forest paths and steep slopes. There is the "Stiefeler Hütte" hut to stop for refreshments.
