The starting point is at the pilgrimage chapel in Verscheid. From there first into the forest to the Bärenkopf (304 m) and then on a narrow forest path to the north until the trees clear and you reach the fields near Hochscheid. It continues westwards in an arc around the village to the idyllic forest area around the Dasbach. Following the green banks of the water, one repeatedly encounters fairytale-like clearings. A short climb in the forest then leads back to the starting point. There are places to stop for refreshments in Hochscheid. Buses run, but accessibility by train is poor.
