Certified premium hiking trail in Rhineland-Palatinate.
The loop starts at the car park of the Naturfreundehaus Niedersimten. From there, the hike is signposted anti-clockwise with the blue devil. A loop that is really worthwhile - impressive rock formations, picturesque forests with babbling brooks and idyllic landscapes in the "Gersbachtal" FFH area await.
The hike even won 4th place in the 2020 vote for Germany's most beautiful hiking trail.
The whole family can discover the diverse flora and fauna in the wild and romantic valleys and at waterfalls. The hike is also worthwhile in winter, when the landscape freezes and large icicles and pillars form. The route follows wide forest tracks and fairly easy forest paths.
You can stop off at the Naturfreundehaus and enjoy regional Palatinate cuisine. There is a playground for children.
