Certified premium hiking trail to the Drachenfels castle ruins near Busenberg, Rhineland-Palatinate.
This route is a certified premium hiking trail featuring bizarre red sandstone cliffs and a landscape characterized by idyllic forests and meadow valleys. The ruins of Drachenfels Castle are also on the circular route. Due to the length of the route, inexperienced hikers can easily split this tour into two sections. Otherwise, a certain level of fitness is required. The starting and finishing points are at the Hexenplätzel hiking parking lot.
There are particularly beautiful views from the Sprinzelfelsen rock and the Eichelberg plateau of Busenberg with the striking onion dome of its St. Jakobus Catholic church, the Schlössel castle in the town center and the Drachenfels.
Premium hiking trails are certified by the German Hiking Institute e.V. and are hiking trails that are characterized by particularly high hiking quality and are also excellently marked. They therefore guarantee a balanced and beautiful hiking experience.
