Felsenweg 6 - Devil's Gorge

Rock-rich premium hiking trail near Ernzen, Rhineland-Palatinate This circular route is a certified premium hiking route. Gorges and crevices in the rock bastions of the Ferschweiler Plateau - especially the 28 m deep Teufelsschlucht - show the imposing primal force of nature. But this spectacular route offers even more. At 140 meters, the clear water of the river Prüm fights its way between mighty boulders. A hiking bridge opens up fascinating views of the rapids and the unreal waterfalls. In the further course of the route, especially from the Liborius Chapel high above the Sauer Valley, there are wonderful panoramic views over the romantic Echternach. Since the 16th century hermit monks lived in the hermitage carved into the rock below the chapel, the remains of which can still be admired. The rock pond marks the entrance to the Gutenbachtal: a bizarre facility, surrounded by terraces, pools, stairs and bridges. The Teufelsschlucht nature park center offers adventure activities in this spectacular landscape.
