Stage 3 of the "Felsenland Sagenweg" long-distance hiking trail, Rhineland-Palatinate.
Stage three of the certified premium hiking trail "Felsenland Sagenweg", which leads from Dahn to Bärenbach through the Palatinate Forest, starts in Bundenthal and ends in Schönau (Palatinate).
Due to the altitude difference to be overcome, the hike is considered demanding. Among other things, it goes very steeply uphill to the Mäuerle and to the highest castle ruins in the Palatinate Forest. In general, on this stage you will encounter many ruins and castles, including the Fleckenstein castle ruins, which, according to legend, was built by none other than the devil.
