Von Linnich zum Barmener Baggersee

Very nice hiking trip in North Rhine-Westphalia. It goes into the area of the Kellenberger Kamp to discover the good old Rur. Start is next to the Linnich SIG Combiloc. The path crosses the Rur right at the beginning and then runs along its banks in a southerly direction; later extensively around the river. Here you will discover the idyllic nature reserves of Kellenberger Kamp, Prinzwingert and the particularly impressive area of the Rur meander between Floßdorf and Broich. You can clearly take in the biotopes worthy of protection, marvel at so much beauty and simply enjoy nature in all its diversity and uniqueness. So you can admire the lovely willow tree avenue at Lake Barmen. Kellenberg Castle is a moated castle on the northern edge of the village of Barmen - unfortunately it is permanently closed. It's always a real eye-catcher! After circumnavigating the Barmener Baggersee, which also offers interested bathers a bathing beach, the way back leads in a north-westerly direction to the starting point.
