The route leads from Duisburg Wedau along the Rhine over old railway lines to the north of the city. Passing the Alsumer Berg, it leads over the former Wolf Railway Line to the former railway line of Hüttenwerke Oberhausen AG, the HOAG Trasse. As an extension, this leads to the former Meiderich ironworks, now the North Landscape Park.
The now legendary 24H MTB Duisburg course is used for a short time, until the trail leads over a green path and the Meidericher Stadtwald to the Rhein Herne Canal .
