Siebengebirge Cologne - Bonn

This impressive point-to-point hike connects the Rhine metropolitan regions with Germany's oldest nature reserve. The path leads from the former federal capital Bonn (specifically the Beuel district on the right bank) into the legendary Siebengebirge (Seven Mountains). The route follows a diverse mixture of broad forestry roads, narrow ridge trails, and steep climbs that lead through dense beech forests and past prominent volcanic cones. A central highlight is the panoramic view from the Drachenfels or the Ölberg, which on clear days extends from Cologne Cathedral to far into the Eifel mountains. Due to the brisk climbs, the route requires good basic fitness but rewards hikers with one of the most spectacular landscapes on the Middle Rhine.
