Burg Castle - Müngsten Bridge

The tour connects two of the most important architectural monuments in the Bergisches Land region. The route begins at the 12th-century Schloss Burg, the ancestral seat of the Counts of Berg, before descending into the wooded Wuppertal. The route leads to the Müngsten Bridge (107 m), which has been Germany's highest railroad bridge since its completion in 1897. You can expect a series of ascents and descents through dense beech forests on well-marked nature trails. Historically, this valley was a center of early industrial water-powered grinding cottages, some of which are still preserved along the riverbanks. The terrain requires constant physical endurance for the final ascent, but remains on technically uncomplicated hiking trails throughout.
