The sixth stage of the Sauerland-Höhenflug begins in the spa town of Bad Fredeburg; you start with a walk through the spa gardens. Then it goes steeply up to beautiful distant views and a forest sofa swing. You hike through mixed and beech forests, past rustic natural forest cells (there is no forestry here and the forest is left to its natural development) and raised bogs to Altastenberg. There are places to stop for refreshments here.
