The fifth stage of the Sauerland high-altitude flight begins in Wenholthausen; it goes to the Gesenberg. After the ascent you have a great view of the village and the surrounding area. Further up and down, through beech and spruce forests, again and again past rest areas and wonderful views, you will reach the forest restaurant "Altes Forsthaus" with a game reserve, a brewery and an adventure playground for children. The destination is beautiful Bad Fredeburg, where you can end the day in one of the restaurants.
Attention: Due to construction work, a large area above Bad Fredeburg is closed for a longer period of time. The route is no longer accessible from the "Alten Forsthaus", but a detour has been set up.
