RTF Burscheid - 152 km

This road bike route starts in Burscheid and explores the rolling hills and river valleys of North Rhine-Westphalia. It goes through the heart of the Bergisches Land, a region historically known for the "Balkan Express" - a former railroad line that is now used as a picturesque Balkan route. The route is a real test of endurance with constant elevation gain and leads through lush forests and traditional half-timbered villages. The route passes through Wuppertal and sections of the regional network of panoramic cycle paths, which offer sweeping views as far as the Rhine plain. Burscheid itself, whose name refers to a gorse-covered hill, serves as a gateway to this hilly landscape where industrial history meets nature.
