Stage 2 of the long-distance hiking trail "Römerkanal-Wanderweg", North Rhine-Westphalia.
This is the second stage of the varied, approximately 115 km long Roman Canal hiking trail, which follows the course of a canal constructed by the Romans in the 1st century from Nettersheim through the Hohes Venn-Eifel Nature Park to Sülz.
The starting point of the second stage is in Dottel and the section ends in Mechernich. Quiet forest, meadow and field passages, beautiful views over the idyllic landscapes of the nature park and a reconstructed Roman aqueduct bridge are among the highlights of this hike.
There are places to stay overnight and stop for refreshments. The route can be reached by bus and train.
