The approximately 8 km long meander path shows hikers in an impressive way the development of the Sieg from a meandering river to a river course that was determined by humankind, among other things, through the construction of a railway line. In the backwaters of the Sieg, rare animals and plants find a habitat that is under nature protection, the 84 m wide Sieg waterfall in Schladern is an example of engineering art from the years 1857 and 1858. The former Sieg loops near Dattenfeld and Dreisel are also impressive witnesses to the constant change in the course of the river.
