This hike can be reached by bus and train (Waldhotel bus stop). For those arriving by car, there are parking spaces in the direction of downtown Heiligenhaus. There are also places to stop for refreshments in town and along the route. The route is therefore ideal as a day trip.
The hiking trail starts at the Waldhotel and Forest Museum in Heiligenhaus. It goes in a northerly direction via the Römersweg to the Oefter Tal nature reserve. Field and meadow paths lead constantly up and down through the hilly landscape and there are always wonderful views.
