Tour from Kottenforst in Bonn via Grafschaft to Altenahr. From there to Kripp and then along the Rhine back to the Kottenforst. The tour goes in the first part on mostly quiet side streets and farm roads through the fruit-growing area around Grafschaft. The area is full of orchards.
The Ahrtalweg went from Altenahr for a few kilometers on the country road. The actual bike path is then really nice to drive and leads over a paved path (partly fine gravel, partly tarred or paved) except for a few through town crossings to Kripp. The signage is almost always good. A few pointers would only have been helpful at the level of Bad Bodendorf.
