Abtei Mariawald-Kermeter is a 4.3 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Heimbach, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and bird watching and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Description

This route traverses from the monastery through the deciduous forest slopes. Start from the hiking car park in Mariawald (above Heimbach). At the end of the parking lot walk up the tarred road to the "Military Cemetery" At the top of the exit follow the forest road for about 2.5 km. Slightly uphill turn left at the first crossroads. Continue up to the parking lot "Alte Buchen".
