A great and varied loop that leads through the history and nature of the river landscape on mostly tarmac paths. It goes through Mecklenburg's "mineral district", where mining was once carried out, past an inland dune and to the viewing tower on the Wanzeberg mountain. There are opportunities to stop for refreshments in Dömitz.
The start is at the car park at Dömitz Fortress, very close to the bus stop "Dömitz, Festung". The bus line 58 from Ludwigslust can be taken.
