The loop around the Maschsee is one of Hanover's most popular routes - joggers, walkers and cyclists flock here, especially when the weather is nice. The loop starts on the north bank near the "Fackelträger" sculpture ("torch bearer") opposite the Sprengel Museum. The loop is marked with a sandstone block every 0.5 km and can be walked in both directions.
It does not initially go along the riverside promenade, but in the direction of the stadium on the Leine bridge. Immediately after the bridge, turn onto the rather narrow "Wahlrecht" path. At the Maschsee spring, do not cross the bridge with the steps, but take the asphalt path for a short distance.
