Stage 5 of the “Leine-Heide-Radweg” long-distance cycle path, Lower Saxony.
This is the fifth stage of the 405 km long Leine-Heide-Radweg, which leads from the source of the Leine in Leinefelde (Eichsfeld) through the central and northern German heathland to the Hanseatic city of Hamburg.
The fifth stage of the Leine-Heide cycle path is around 52 km long, begins in Schwarmstedt and ends in Soltau. You pass the confluence of the Leine in the Aller and cycle through the beautiful heather and moorland landscapes of the Lüneburg Heath.
The route can be reached by bus and train. There are places to stay overnight and restaurants.
