This route is stage 13 of the Heidschnuckenweg, a long-distance trail through Lower Saxony, starting at Dehningshof and ending in the royal city of Celle. The section passes the Severloher Heide, the final large heathland area of the journey, before ascending the Citronenberg and passing the tranquil Wildecker Teiche, a haven for migratory birds. After winding through the dense woodlands of Kohlenbach and Scheuen, the path follows the Aller river meadows directly into the heart of Celle, concluding at the majestic Celle Castle.
Overnight stays are available at the Dehningshof forest inn at the start and in numerous hotels in the historic center of Celle; camping is not permitted.
