• Partially closed due to nature restoration work: Starting in June 2026, nature restoration work will take place in Weerribben-Wieden National Park for the next 5 years. Trees will be removed, ditches dug, and waterways dredged. This may result in some trails being closed. It connects sights such as the Bourtanger Moor-Veenland International Nature Park and local waterways. The terrain is predominantly flat with occasional slight inclines. The surface comprises a mixture of asphalt and unpaved sections. Open views over fields and pastures characterize many parts of the route. Rare bird species and native moorland plants are documented in the protected nature reserves. Weatherproof clothing is appropriate for the open and exposed landscape.
