Cycle Tour from Hofbieber via Adolphseck Castle, Fulda Valley, and Vorderrhoen

Panoramic bike tour in the Hessische Rhoen Nature Park, Hesse. This almost 53 km long bike tour runs mainly on paved paths and gravel roads. You should have an average level of fitness. The tour is also suitable for e-bikes. The starting point of the route is Hofbieber, from where you cycle on the Milseburgradweg in the direction of Langenbieber. In Melzdorf you switch to tarred dirt roads and drive up a slight hill to Horwieden. Here you have a wonderful view of Milseburg, Wasserkuppe and many more of the highest mountains in the Rhoen. After crossing the main road, continue towards Rex and from there to Böckels. Here you have to ride on the main road (medium traffic volume) for a moment before you turn back onto quiet dirt roads in Wissels. Then it goes over beautiful paths and through a motorway underpass to Schloss Adolphseck-Fasanerie. In addition to the beautiful complex, there is also an opportunity to stop for a break. From the castle you drive through an avenue - the official access road from Schloss Adolphseck-Fasanerie - towards Bronnzell. There you meet the Fulda valley and follow the Fulda cycle path or Hessian long-distance cycle path R1 in the direction of Rhön. In Lütter it is time to say goodbye to the Fulda valley; It goes first on main roads through the place until you turn left uphill. Here on the ascent, it is advisable to stop at the Mariengrotto, which is well worth seeing. The terrain has now become noticeably hilly and on the way back to Hofbieber you touch the first small foothills of the Rhoen. Paved branch lines lead to Dietershausen and from there it goes in the direction of Friesenhausen. You pass a holiday village, where the bike has to be pushed approx. 100 m from a gate. A short time later you reach a small lake with a beer garden and restaurant (Kneshecke), where you can take another break. From Friesenhausen, the tour continues on dirt roads and side roads, past the Hotel Fohlenweide in the direction of the Milseburgradweg. Parallel to the cycle path, an asphalt path leads to the Bieberstein swimming pool (with Bieberstein Castle in the background). According to Langenbieber, the bike rolls almost by itself. Here you can take another break in the beer garden of the Gasthaus Kollmann before tackling the remaining route back to Hofbieber.
