This route is a certified premium hiking trail. Most hikers take four or five days to really enjoy this varied long stretch. The excellently marked route leads you through dense forests with ancient oaks and past bodies of water in which the beaver diligently builds dams and castles. In the open country sections you have wonderful views through lush green valleys up to the Vogelsberg.
If you want to walk the entire route, you start in Schlüchtern or Langenselbold. Further starting points for shorter stages can be found in Bad Soden-Salmünster-Mernes, Bad Orb or Freigericht-Horbach.
