From Limburg, drive past the Diez castle. The Lahn valley becomes narrower with often rugged slopes and narrowed the bike path. A short detour over the Lahn to Balduinstein to the castle. It follows a particularly scenic section to Geilnau. The path led over a country road without cycle path with a three kilometer long slope (about 200 meters) to Holzappel. After that it went just as steep downhill. The next climb led up to Arnstein Abbey, where members of an Orthodox order live. In the cafe of the monastery there is coffee and cake for a price. Then we drove past Nassau and Dausenau to Staatsbad Bad Ems. After a short tour past the Römerquelle, the Kurhaus, the casino, the old town hall and the spring tower, continue past the castle Lahneck to Lahnstein.

Beautiful bike path along the Lahn, partially secured with railing. Unfortunately, a three-kilometer climb on a country road without a cycle path is to be passed. However, in Geilnau it is recommended to make this section by train.
