GIRO Hattersheim RTF - Cycling Marathon

This is the official route of the demanding, more than 210 km long GIRO bike marathon. It goes from the Main Plain through the Lorsbachtal and the wooded Taunus Nature Park. The Hintertaunus region is characterized by roads with little traffic and small villages. In the further course the route reaches the highest elevation of the Hochtaunus area, the "Grosse Feldberg", which is also known for its striking telecommunications tower. After the long ascent, the second section leads towards Idstein, whose historic old town is well worth seeing. From there it goes on into the Aartal in the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis, which with its undulating route profile is again very strenuous.
