Route 1 starts and finishes at the Gaertnerhof hiking information board. After crossing the Eder and the Muehlengraben you reach Fritzlar. Here you go on a nice tour of discovery in the historic old town including the well-preserved city wall, winding streets, lovingly restored half-timbered houses and of course the Fritzlar Cathedral, the construction of which began a few centuries after the church and monastery were founded by Saint Boniface.
