Felsenmeer – Melibokus – Riesenstuhl

This spectacular route leads through the front Odenwald and connects two of the most famous landmarks in the Bergstraße region. The trail opens up the famous Felsenmeer near Lautertal-Reichenbach and leads up to the Melibokus (517 m), the highest mountain on the Hessian Bergstraße. The route is a challenging mix of steep forest trails, historic paved paths, and the granite boulders of the Felsenmeer. A central highlight is the ascent through the huge rock formations, past Roman structures such as the "Riesenstuhl" (giant's chair), followed by the panoramic view from the Melibokus over the Rhine valley to the Palatinate Forest and the Vosges. Due to the inclines and climbing passages in the Felsenmeer, the route requires good physical condition and sure-footedness.
