This hike takes you through the Döberitzer Heide Nature Reserve in Brandenburg. The route starts in Krampnitz and winds through the publicly accessible part of this expansive area, mostly through the Ferbitzer Bruch. Not far from the military training area, the trail heads north through the unique heathland landscape with its remarkable flora and fauna. The path runs close to the core wilderness zone, which is off-limits because horses, deer, and bison live there in a protected wilderness. With a bit of luck, a good vantage point through the tall fence allows you to spot some of the animals. Along the way, there are several vantage points that offer a better view. The tour ends south of Elstal at the exit of the area. There is a petting zoo there, making the tour interesting for children as well.
