Refreshing section of the 66 Lakes Trail near Wendisch-Rietz, Brandenburg.
The 12th stage is a quiet section of the 66-Lakes Circular Trail and leads along the Scharmützelsee and Großer Glubigsee lakes, the Springsee, Grubensee and Godnasee lakes to the Spree. Most of the time, the route runs along unsurfaced forest and field paths, but where it passes through villages, it sometimes runs over pavement. In Neuendorf and Leibsch, with a bit of luck, storks can be observed in their nests in spring and summer. As most of the lakes on the route have no inflow from towns or fields, the water quality is very good and is ideal for swimming in summer. In Neuendorf, the banks of the Spree and the Spreewald are within easy reach.
