The first stage of the Meadow Walker Route starts at the tourist information center in Marktoberdorf. It goes first through the village and then on dirt roads through a stream valley to the villages of Ruderatshofen and Hiemenhofen. We continue to the cultivated Alps at Bergmanghof with a fantastic view over the Ammergau Alps. It goes through a coniferous forest to Oberbeuren, then along the Römerturm in Großkemnat and to the stage destination, the old town of Kaufbeuren.
