3rd stage of the Wern cycle path in Bavaria.
The third and final stage of the Wern cycle path is the longest but a particularly beautiful one. The cycle path leads through wine villages, past dry grassland and to an impressive ruin.
From Arnstein, the route leads to Reuchelheim, where one of the most beautiful examples of rococo architecture awaits in the form of a church. The route continues through the traditional wine villages of Müdesheim, Halsheim and Binsfeld. Fields, meadows and meadow landscapes alternate and the villages of Thüngen and Stetten are passed.
Wine accompanies cyclists in Gössenheim with the "Homburg" vineyard. It is named after the magnificent castle ruins that tower over the village.
Via Sachsenheim, the route finally reaches the destination of Wernfeld. This is where the Wern flows into the Main. There is a good train connection from there as well as refreshment stops.
