This is the fourteenth stage of the Wasserläufer route, next to the Himmelsstürmer route and the Wiesengaenger route, the third main route of the "Allgäu hiking trilogy". It's almost 17 km from Missen-Wilhams to Oberstaufen.
The near-natural hike leads over several peaks, including the Kalzhofener Höhe and the Salmaser Höhe, over alpine meadows and through beautiful mountain forests. There are places to stay overnight and restaurants, both on the way and at the stage destination.
